I have thought a lot about your comments about drawing quantity, especially as I belabored my one drawing of Fritz and killed it in the end. It makes sense. If you want to, you can send me an email at mommaninja1956@gmail.com and I will send you an invite to become a coauthor of 100king to Improve and you can post you pictures there as well. The expression on the dog's face, the dropped shadow, the lines and strokes... amazing!Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02621662753557056346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7604899118228706726.post-60689349423953031562010-05-17T21:34:46.173-07:002010-05-17T21:34:46.173-07:00Thanks for all your nice comments. I never dip the pen but use the dropper on the ink bottle to place ink in the nib; much neater than actually dipping the pen. Occasionally I like to use a #3 or #1 sized sable brush for linear accents. They are really expensive but achieve really nice line quality. I also keep a container of water to rinse my nib and brush throughout the drawing process to keep the pen from clogging. I use a soft cloth to dry the nib. Sounds like a chore but it is not so bad once you get used to it.David R.
