Daily Sketch 32

Started this drawing out as a doodle. Then one thing led to another and a face emerged. This is a different drawing style for me. It sort of reminds me of Picasso or Matisse, both artists whose work I greatly admire.

Drawn with a Sharpie pen.

I like this drawing very much, it feels very spontaneous and playful. I definitely think you should explore this style parallell to your ordinary style of drawing.

Agree with Johanna. And, I think th style is crying out for color in all those shapes!

Great drawing David. It's neat how the face developed out of the doodles. Did you get to check out the Matisse exhibit at the Haggin Museum in Stockton last summer? It was very nice.

Great doodling! I agree, I'd love to see Picasso style colors added to it.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I guess I'll have to experiment with color in this piece.
Karen - As a matter of fact, I did get to see the Matisse exhibit. I loved it. Very inspiring.

If this was done in a large format with color added, it would definately be hung in a museum.
