Comm Arts Mag Sketch

Yesterday I received in the mail not one Communication Arts Magazine, but four. The four boxes were strapped together and so later in the evening when I cut the strap off, I noticed that the other boxes were addressed to three other places. Luckily, I live walking distance from a Post Office and so it is a good excuse to get out of the house for a walk.
I thought the mailed items would make a good still life drawing, so here they are. In this drawing I wanted to experiment more with my Prismacolor gray tone felt pens. The three pens are 25%, 50% and 75% cool gray tones. I started with the lightest tone, then the mid tone, and finally the darkest tone.
I like how the pens have a broad tip on one side and a fine tip on the other side. I used a broad tip for most of the drawing.
Originally purchased for an architectural drawing class, I have hardly used the pens since. I look forward to using them more.

Really nice study and what an opportunity too since it came from a random error itself. Love the result!

This looks nice. My pens all dried up on me waiting for me to dare to use them so use them or lose them! Now I have some Copic markers doing the same waiting. I guess I should just experiment as you have here.

Oh, I have some of these! This makes me want to pull them out to play...if they aren't dried up already! Nice page!

This is quite nice.

I, too, have those pens as well as a set of Copic markers that are just sitting around waiting for me. Maybe your post will get me motivated to try them.
