Illustration Friday: Diary

Okay, this is quite a bit late, but even though it was hectic last week, I still wanted to follow through on this piece, even though it won't be published on IF. I am trying stay on top of the weekly topics.

For this piece, I wanted it to be more spontaneous than my other work, but it took me much longer to complete it because each step of the way seemed to pose a different set of problems. That's what I get for not sketching my ideas out before working on the final picture. I ended up using mixed media to solve different problems as the picture developed.

Done with watercolor, acrylic paint, collage, and brush/pen with colored ink (the "tweets" in the collage were digitally constructed and cut out of computer paper).
