Illustration Friday: "Spooky"

Getting away from the Halloween aspect of this week's topic (which is probably what inspired it), I decided to be a little more subtle with my interpretation. I wanted to do a comparative on how we perceive things, and how our perception is often based on context. In this diptych, the first scene is depicted with soft imagery and autumn colors, hardly a foreboding place. The second image may seem to be a bit "spooky" because it is getting dark outside and the road doesn't quite seem so inviting for an evening stroll.
Created with watercolor, Prismacolor pencils, and India ink.

Great job and so true too. How we perceive a thing makes all the difference.
