A couple of nights ago, as I started to go to sleep, I envisioned a design for this painting and woke up the next day still thinking of it. Since I had a canvas already stretched and ready to go, I started the painting that next day. Though the basic elements of the composition are similar to what I had originally envisioned, the colors are a bit different. I had not planned on using red. Also, as I was in the process of creating, I decided to use some pages for collage out of a magazine that was just laying around close to the canvas. It just so happened that the colors coordinated with what I was using. "Gateway" was created with acrylic, latex paint and collage. Painted with brushes, fingers, hands, and twine.

Ha! Thanks. Believe it or not, I was thinking of hanging it in my bedroom near my side of the bed. I wouldn't want to subject my wife to seeing it on her side :)
