Pet Drawing #5

It has been a while since I have drawn with my quill pen and so I decided to use it with this drawing of Ruby. Unfortunately, when I opened my art box I found that my bottle of ink leaked and there was hardly any ink to use. Using minimal rendering I managed to spread the ink out enough to just get by, then added linear brush strokes to complete the drawing. Now I have to go by the store and get more ink. I think I will get two bottles.
Drawn with pen nib, a #3 brush and India ink.

I love the angle of this one! Great perspective and I love the expression! Too bad about the ink though! I hadn't used mine in years and the other day decided to give it a go. Stuck my pen nib in and hit a big clump of gooey ink! Yuck...too old!

This is a great sketch. I used to use India ink sometimes to dry, but couldn't figure out how to clean my nibs. Seems like when I rinsed them in water, they'd rust. Of course it's been years! Do they make them the same way? How do you clean your nibs? Could you email me?
