Illustration Friday: "Beneath"

I was really set on not doing this week's topic because I have been feeling in a slump lately. I have been looking for ways to strengthen my portfolio while at the same time searching for ways to market my illustrative skills. It's been hard to know where to look and how to go about finding work.
Well, I sort of broke out of that pity party this evening and drew this illustration while watching a couple of TV shows. Originally, I was planning on simply using black ink. But then I thought I might experiment with my colored inks to try something different. I used red, black, green and blue ink. I like the arbitrary effect of the different combination of colored hatching. I will have to experiment further with this approach.

This is a really interesting piece, and the color inks add a nice twist to your usual ink drawings! nancy
