Illustration Friday: Resolutions

I've looked at some artists' resolutions for this year and it's no wonder why a majority of us give up after a few months (though I usually give up a lot sooner.) That's why this year I've been hesitant about making any resolutions. I guess my only resolution is to strive not to make unrealistic goals. That's a really difficult thing for me because there seems to be a lot of things that I wish I could do, be, or make better. My problem is that instead of setting goals, I tend to make a wish list, and there are often so many items on the list that there really is no realistic way to achieve them. As an artist (and for life in general) I've decided to keep my things very simple. I'm only focusing on things that will benefit my business and trying not to get caught up in peripheral things. I guess a balanced life is what my aim is.
Illustration created with brush/ink and pen/ink.

He is a cutie and I have given up having resolutions years ago, knowing they would not become reality. I think one has to know one's self. I have been doing focus words instead.

Love the drawing! I've resolved to make of list of things I will not be changing this year! Just need the resolve to sit down and make the list!
